Hand Chased Hand Chased Sterling Water Pitcher with Architectural Landscape Design by S. Kirk & Sons

This magnificent sterling silver water pitcher is an example of the fine craftsmanship of the Kirk Silver Company in the early 1900's. The repousse work on this pitcher, all done by hand, has been accented with the presence of a castle in the distance and human figures in the foreground.

Incorporating the landscape into the design gives the piece the appearance of having been commissioned to commemorate the estate. One side of the pitcher features a front view of the castle while the other side features a perspective from back. Depth and detail are created due to the incredible amount of hand-produced repousse work. Architectural repousse silver items by Kirk were often custom ordered so each piece is one of a kind. The pitcher weighs 23.7 troy ounces and stands 7 ½" tall.
