Pfaltzgraff
The Pfaltzgraff pottery company was founded in the United States by German immigrants
during the early 19th century. George Falsgraff, a potter and farmer by trade,
opened the first factory in 1811 and Pfaltzgraff continues to thrive to this day! |
Portmeirion
Portmeirion Potteries began as a small pottery decorating firm in 1960. In Stoke-on-Trent,
England, Susan Williams-Ellis and her husband, Euan Cooper-Willis, purchased a
small facility, the A.E. Gray Company. Here, Susan could pursue her hobby of decorating
pottery. |

Lauren
Further expanding his multi-million dollar fashion business, Ralph Lauren decided
to introduce a line of home furnishings. His tableware designs are sophisticated,

Reed
and Barton
In 1824, Isaac Babbitt & William Crossman began a small Brittaniaware firm
that was the starting point for Reed & Barton. Today, Reed & Barton produces
pewter hollowware, stainless flatware, and sterling flatware and hollowware. |
Rosenthal
Phillip Rosenthal (1855-1937) began business in 1884 by purchasing white ware
from Hutschenreuther and selling designs, handpainted by his wife Maria, door
to door. |

Albert
Royal Albert can trace its roots to 1896. Father and son Thomas Wild and Thomas
Clarke (T.C.) Wild acquired Albert Works, a factory named in commemoration of
the birth of Prince Albert. |
