Replacements, Ltd.
Featured Pet - May 2004
For
the past six years, Peter McKinnon has been a member of the Replacements, Ltd.
family and has worked as a part of our curating staff. For the past four years,
Peter has brought his lab, Bosco, to work with him. After reading an ad in the
local newspaper for a free dog, Peter went to visit the owner of the 2 1/2 year
old dog. When Peter arrived at the owner’s residence, he noticed that Bosco
was living in a cage that was set atop a cement slab. Bosco’s likable nature
and outgoing spirit tugged at Peter’s heartstrings. Peter adopted Bosco
and brought him home for immediate spoiling. Peter has never regretted bringing
home Bosco and cannot imagine life without him.
Bosco comes to work every day with Peter. When they arrive
at work, Bosco begins looking for breakfast around Peter’s desk. One of
Peter’s fellow employees cooks for Bosco each night and brings him breakfast
each morning. The rest of the day is spent playing with other dogs and employees.
Bosco loves to play on the Replacements, Ltd. lawn during his lunch. Often, he
and Peter wander to a construction site that is adjacent to Replacement’s
facilities. Apparently, Bosco expresses great interest in the goings-on of the
construction workers. Bosco’s afternoons are generally filled with napping.
I recently asked Peter what he thinks of the Replacements,
Ltd. pet-friendly policy and he has this to say, “Bosco and I are together
24 hours a day. I would not know what to do if I could not bring Bosco to work
with me. The pet-friendly policy is one of the best perks of having this job.”
