Replacements, Ltd.
Featured Pet - June 2005
This
month our featured pet is “Oliver Gaylord Jackson,” a Cairn Terrier.
Oliver belongs to Linda Jackson, a member of our Order Processing staff. After
the passing of her basset hounds, Linda realized quickly that she wanted another
companion. She knew that she wanted a dog smaller than her basset hounds but not
too small. Linda describes Oliver as “sturdy, tough, and not afraid of anything.”
Like most terriers, Oliver thinks of himself as “big.”
He and Linda often visit a local park for dogs, known as the Bark Park. On visits
there, Oliver likes to run with larger dogs. When he disappears, Linda says that
she looks for him in groups of boxers, golden retrievers, or great Danes! As an
"only child", Oliver receives much attention from his mother. He loves
to take rides in the car and runs up to Linda anytime that he hears her car keys
rattling. Although Oliver occasionally visits Replacements, Ltd., Linda said that
he is not a working dog. After the first day he accompanied Linda to work, he
was unable to get out of bed the next morning! He does, however, have a large
group of canine and human friends in his neighborhood that keep him active and
busy.
Linda had this to say about the Replacements, Ltd. pet friendly
policy, “I take great comfort in knowing that if I want I can bring Oliver
to work with me. I also enjoy the company of all of the canine friends that I
have made at Replacements. Being able to hold or pet a furry friend brings a smile
to my face and a joy to my heart.”
