Angel and Ruthann Fudacz

This month we feature “Angel,” a 5-year-old lab mix that belongs to Ruthann Fudacz a member of our China Inventory team. Angel was adopted by Ruthann from the Guilford County Animal Shelter 2 1/2 years ago.  After taking her home, Ruthann noticed that Angel walked with a limp.   An X-ray of Angel’s front left leg showed that she had a dislocated elbow. Apparently the dislocation came from an old injury that was never treated.  Ruthann was very concerned about Angel’s well-being and consulted three different veterinarians. Each gave her an answer that she did not want to hear; Angel’s leg would need to be amputated.

When Ruthann went to pick up Angel after surgery, she thought she would have to carry her and put her in the car.  Much to Ruthann’s surprise, Angel walked out to greet her. She even walked to the car and hopped in before Ruthann had the chance to help her.

Angel adapted immediately to only having three legs.  She goes on walks in the neighborhood, hikes, and will run around with Ruthann’s other dogs, Lucy and Abby.  Angel has never met a stranger she didn't like.  She has a great personality and is always looking to give and get affection.

When asked what she liked most about the Replacements Ltd. pet-friendly policy, Ruthann had this to say, “Pets are such a big part of our lives.  What a great benefit to be able to bring them to work at Replacements.”
